Midterm Survey
Midterm surveys are a form of formative assessment that provide useful information about students’ learning experiences in the classroom. Recognized as a “best practice” for teaching and learning, midterm surveys can be extremely beneficial for both faculty and students. These surveys, developed by faculty and administered to students, request feedback on learning activities rather than ratings of overall teaching effectiveness. The following are a few examples of commonly asked questions on Midterm surveys.
Is the pace of the course too fast, too slow, or about right?
What is the most important/valuable thing you have learned in this course thus far?
What suggestions do you have for improving the course?
What is helping you to learn in this course?
What is making learning difficult in this course?
