The ACHA-National College Health Assessment (NCHA) is a nationally recognized research survey that has assisted us in collecting precise data about GT students' health habits, behaviors, and perceptions. GT most recently administered this survey in 2022.
Informing Student Engagement and Well-Being (SEWB) programming and services.
Enrolled GT students age 18 and above.
28000
Each participating campus provides to ACHA a letter of invitation/informed consent, a subject line, the email addresses of students in our sample, a copy of our IRB approval, and an ACHA-NCHA Web Based Survey Order Form. ACHA contacts students to participate in the ACHA-NCHA through a letter of invitation sent via e-mail under the signature of Dr. Luoluo Hong, Vice President for Student Engagement & Well-Being at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This email message also serves as the informed consent. As indicated in the letter, consent is provided when the student uses the link within the email message to access the survey. We (GT) provide the text of the letter of invitation to ACHA as well as the subject line we want included with the e-mail. We then supply ACHA with a list of student e-mail addresses in an Excel spreadsheet file. Additionally, we will personalize the electronic letter of invitation/consent sent to each student, "Dear Fellow Yellow Jacket," also under the signature of Dr. Luoluo Hong, Vice President for Student Engagement & Well-Being. Thereafter, ACHA contacts only non-responders with no more than 2 reminder e-mails.
